About Me | Influences

My name is Stuart Brown and I am 17 from Morayshire in the Scotland. If you want to know anymore info about me, check out my Bebo or MySpace

I've always been into music, even from a young age. My dad is also very musical and plays the guitar. I like all types of music and love making music, I mainly like to make electronica music on the computer but occasionly I play the drums.

I got my first drumkit in ____, it was only a beginners kit a Session Pro, but it was the kit I learned to play the drums. I soon wanted to upgrade so I got a Mapex VX Drumkit with Zildijian Cymbals which was much better, Then later I stopped playing the drums in late 2008, Now in 2009 I've started playing them and soon want to get more cymbals and a double bass pedal. I was influenced alot by my old drum teachers (Dave Martin and Rossini Calvacante) to stay playing the drums. I was also influenced by drummers like Tre Cool, Joey Jordison, Don Henley, Chad Smith, Roger Taylor and more.

I got into DJing in late 2006, I used to listen to "DJ Rankin" and "DJ Cammy" and thought it was good, just speeding up and adding acapellas, I soon realised that was s*** and stopped. I used to listen to CD's like Cluband and in late 2007 got into Music Production. At the same time, my old drum teacher who was producing music on his computer gave me eJay Dance 5 CD and I used that putting loops, I used to think it was great, But I soon got bored of putting loops together. My music teacher at school used to show me things on Cubase and he told me about Fruity Loops, So I got a demo of it and really liked it, And now have FL Studio 8. My parents must of knew that I was interested in creating music on the computer, at Christmas 2007 I got Cubase Studio 4, an M-Audio Axiom 25 Midi Controller and Rob Papen Predator VST Synth. I loved it I finally had the ability to try and make music, even though I was that good at the time. Then in Feb 08 I got Acid XMC 6 for my birthday (Not really the best, but it's ok).

And now in 2009, still trying to make music in Cubase and FL Studio. Hopefully in the future I will get more VST synths and better skills at making electronica music on the computer, I would also like to start remixing songs and recording my dad playing the guitar.

I also get the magazines MusicTech and Computer Music which are very useful with tips, reviews and lots of Samples and VST Plugins.

So hopefully in the future I get more VST Synths & Samples and get more, better songs up on here.
